: The Titanic Exhibition started last weekend here in Toronto, and I plan to attend this Saturday. I am giddy with excitement at the chance to see the artifacts brought back, but am most excited to see their models, armed with the knowledge I have gained from this site. The as-was model is a 1/48. Armed with what we all discovered here, I found about errors or opportunities to improve but stopped looking about 2/3 the way down the model due to the crowd.
The big wreck model is not bad, but there's really no backend. They just gave up on the rear. To simulate the corroded surface, the plates are made of lightweight roofing painted rust color. It looks good and is easy to cut and work with.
The Toronto show goes to Dallas next. if the big model comes here, I'll look at fixing it.
A new show starts in Chicago with a whole new crop of artifacts and the D-deck gangway door. it will go to las Vegas after that.
